I have also used Electronic Tanpura so as to support the Tune. Please give me your feedback through your valuable comment to my Blog. Thanks).
One of the most famous Bhajans to be used in a Hindi movie is the evergreen bhajan Man Tadpat from the movie Baiju Bawra that was released in 1952. This Bhajan was based on Raga Malkauns in pure form. The music was set to tune by maestro Naushad Ali. All the songs in this film were based on Classical ragas. Man Tadpat was sung by the immortal Mohammed Rafi. Initially, the Urdu-speaking Mohammed Rafi had problems pronouncing some Sanskrit words of this Bhajan. So the music director, Naushad had to invite Sanskrit pundits from Varanasi to train Mohammed Rafi so that he could pronounce the Sanskrit lyrics of the Bhajan correctly. The pundits had to work very hard to improve Mohammed Rafi's diction. But after a great deal of effort, the pundits finally did succeed in improving Rafi's pronunciation to the desired extent. After several rehearsals, Naushad gave them his final approval to record this Bhajan. This Bhajan is popular even today. This Bhajan has been sung in most of the temples all over the world. We have heard this Bhajan thousands of times, and we still want to listen to it over and over again. This does not surprise me when I consider all the effort that went into the rehearsals of this great Bhajan before it was recorded. I do not think there is any another composition in Hindi films based on Raga Malkauns that is better than Man Tadpat. This is just my view.
One more interesting fact to be noted here is that all 3 artists Mohd. Rafi (Singer), Naushad (Composer) and Shakeel Badayuni (Lyricist) were all Muslims and yet the trio gave to the world the most unforgettable Bhajan of all times "Man Tadpat Hari Darshan Ko Aaj" which has been sung or played on the instrument in almost all Hindu Templs at least once all over the World.
One of my Sulekha friends Dileep Naik who is also a very Talented musician himself has added following event attached with recording of "Man Tadpat" Bhajan in 1952.
"While taking takes after takes of the song Naushadji was not satisfied with the result and always felt some thing missing from the song, that was the feeling. Rafi Sahab then requested the director to get a picture of lord Krishna. Soon a framed picture was brought from the market. Rafi saheb placed the picture right in front of him in the recording room and asked Naushadji to start a fresh take. This take came out really great and all musicians found that Rafi sahab was in tears while giving this recording.Such was the commitment & feelings; no wonder this is one of the best Bhajans in Hindi Film History."

Dear Dr. Kamath Sir,
Very very soulful rendition by you on your Bass Flute of an awesome and devotional number by Mohd. Rafi Sahab’s Man Tarpat Hari Darshan based on raga malkaus. Your flute’s rendition gave me much relaxation in my soul and soothing to my ear. Meri atmaa ko bahut hi shanti milee aapke madhur bansuri ko sunkar. Also liked very much reading your write-up too on bhajan’s detail. It was interesting to know about that for this particular song a pandit was called by Music director Naushad Ali fromBanaras in order to have a perfect pronunciation in Sanskrit since Rafi Sahab was very proficient in Urdu and Hindi pronunciation. I appreciate these painstaking efforts of both the MD and singer, Rafi and Naushad and awesome lyrics of Shakeel Badayuni. I love to read in your blog and soulfully appreciate about the devotional aspect and auspicious feelings of Rafi Sahab which came out by seeing an awesome picture of Lord Krishna while he was rendering this particular song with his soulful devotion.
Once again, I would say that it‘s your marvellous rendition on bass flute which I will keep recording for my ever life time and will love to listen in my relaxation moments. Ye spiritual dhun mere dil ko chugaya .
I request you to read my valuable comments on your previous blog wher is your lovely rendition of Mukeshji’ Ye mere diwana pan hai which you sang it so beautifully. And also listen my latest rendition of song Pal Pal Dil ke Pass which i posted today morning . Give your feedback.
Regards,
Mukesh

Dear Dr.Kamath-ji,
I listened to your 'Man tadpat—' yesterday night. I thought of commenting immediately but I didn't want to disturb myself from the mood it generated, so I just listened again quietly. There was tranquility in the air! It was blissful listening to your flute and the tempura tones enhanced the meditative atmosphere! The immortal bhajan created by Shakeel Badhayuni, Naushad and Mohammed Rafi truly symbolizes secularism inIndia ! Thanks for bringing this valuable point to attention and Thank you for the beautiful experience you gave through your soulful musical blog!
Regards,
S.V.Nathan.

Dear Dr. Bhagwath,
I feel deeply moved to read your sincere comment coming from bottom of your heart. Yes. Raga Malkauns is very soothing and a very serious Raga. It was nice to know that both your parents use to sing this Bhajan "Man Tadapat". Like we all know this is a very soul stirring Bhajan which is the Best Bhajan on Raga Malkauns ever composed in Bollywood. This Bhajan will remain alive for all to time to come until the end of this Universe and will be reborn again after Universe takes birth again as per Big Bang Theory.
Kind Regards,
Dr. Kamath

Dear Dileep Naik,
Thanks a Ton for your wonderful appreciative comment. Yes. Raga Malkauns is very soothing because of 4 Komal Notes like you said. Malkauns has lots of depth and one gets moved as he listens to this Raga. Like many other Ragas this Raga Malkauns has healing powers.
I am extremely pleased to read about additional anecdote on this Bhajan "Man Tadpat". Thanks for sharing it with all of us. I liked that finally Lord Krishna removed the tension from Rafi's mind and in the very next take he rendered the Bhajan flawlessly and the Bhajan in the present form was finally recorded.
Especially, when the appreciation is coming from a versatile musician like you, I feel very proud of myself.
Yes. Music does transcend all the manmade barriers and unites everyone. You made my day!
Kind Regards,
Dr. Kamath
