I have played on my Flute this Beautiful Bhajan "PAYOJI MAINE RAM RATAN" along with Tabla and Ghungroos.
Today is a very happy day for me. I just returned from our Board meeting of Shirdi Saibaba Temple of Flushing, New York and we took the decisionwith majority decision to start our Shirdi Saibaba Temple partially on Guru Poornima Day on July 17th 2008 in our newly constructed building. All devotees are very happy and looking forward for a big function on July 17th, 2008. It was all Shirdi Saibaba's Grace and it was his wish to move to new building from his current temporary building.
Above Bhajan is a very melodious Bhajan which I always sing in Shirdi Saibaba Temple in Flushing, New York. Today, I was thinking about Shri Sivaram Jee who is one of my best friends in Sulekha. I know Sivaram Jee loves to listen to Bhajans. So I thought let me give Shri Sivaram Jee a treat by singing this Bhajan through my Flute. So I sat down and recorded it with Electronic Tabla and also the Ghungaroos to bring the special effect. I recorded this in one shot. I played Flute and also the Ghungaroos. Now you will be surprised how one person could do two different things at the same time when he has only two hands. This is definitely NOT A CHAMATKAR. Just figure it out. I will leave it to you. After you figure this out please mention it in your comment to this blog. But note that these Ghungaroos gave a very good effect which you must be experiencing right now while you are listening.
On Electronic Tabla, I gave special Bhajan Beat which suited this Bhajan very well. I am sure everyone will love to listen to this Bhajan on Flute. It came out very good on my Flute. After listening to my Flute, please post your comment so as to express your valuable feedback. Your feedback is very important to me. This Bhajan is based on Raga Mishra Pahadi. Attributes of pure Raga Pahadi are as follows:
Aroha : SA RE GA PA DHA SA
Avaroha : SA DHA PA GA PA GA RE SA
Vaadi : SA Samvaadi : PA
Lyrics of this Bhajan are as follows: I also have given notes on Alaap of this Bhajan.

Dear Dr Kamath

I liked the effect of the ghungroos.
Your fav Lata had sung it for a private album titled 'Ram Ratan Dhan Paayo'.

The audio is amazing! Just too good for words.
You have chosen a beautiful Meera Bhajan. It is my favourite too...one of the bhajans I love to sing.
I appreciate your gesture of dedicating songs/bhajans/ blogs to your friends here. It is really nice of you.
BTW are we missing an occassion?? Your profile page shows that this is your 100th blogpost.

Dear Sivaram Jee,
I really thank you very much for your whole-hearted appreciation. Once again you made my day! I am extremely happy to note that you liked my Flute rendition of this Bhajan. Yes. I tried to put the spirit of Great Saint Meerabai while playing the Flute as well as while playing Ghungaroos and that is why the Flute Tune came out just right to give a spiritual effect to the listener. After all Saint Meerabai was the Greatest devotee of Lord Krishna after Radha. In fact, I consider Saint Meerabai as the reincarnation of Radhda.
I did not know that you also sing Bhajans. I would like to hear someday your Bhajans. Maybe someday we will meet.
Also thank you very much for your Best Wishes towards our efforts to open Shirdi Saibaba Temple partially on this Guru Poornima Day that is coming on Thursday (which is again Baba's Day) July 17th, 2008. Next 3 days I and my wife will be very very busy doing our SEVA for Shirdi Saibaba Temple in Flushing.
MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY,
Kind Regards,
Dr. Kamath

Kamath-ji
I feel humbled again and thank you so much .
I am glad to note that Shirdi Saibaba temple is moving to the new Building on Guru Pornima at New York. I only wish I am in a place like New Jersey where I can come and listen to your flute on that day . We should definitely meet sometime this year
Your flute reminded me of the Bhakthi of Meera .Although many have sung this song I love to hear the Lata Mangeshkar version.Your flute version was excellent and you had brought lot of variations to the song adding to melody and the tabla and ghungroo together made it like a public performance effect .It was so pleasing to hear this melodious bhajan again in flute . I will definitely listen to this bhajan a couple of times .
On Guru Pournima Eve I may get a chance to sing at Sai Samithi here. I had been singing in local bhajans when given opportunity.
We wish the function all success and hope to see you soon
Best Regards
Sivaram

Hi Bina Gupta,
WELCOME TO MY BLOG! Thank you very much for visiting my Blog. I am very happy to note that you liked my Flute Tune very much. Yes. You are correct. While playing this Flute Tune I tried to put Meera's spirit into the Bhajan especially while playing Ghungaroos. After all Saint Meera Bai was very close to Flute Playing Lord Krishna.
Please come to Shirdi Sai Baba Temple in Flushing on July 17th, 2008 for whole day Guru Poornima function. You can see me also. I will be singing Bhajan and playing Flute on July 17th between 11:15 AM till 1 PM and 7 PM till 8:30 PM on second floor of New Building of Baba Temple at 46-16 Robinson Street (next block to Lord Ganesha Hindu Temple) in Flushing. Temple phone number is 718-321-9243.
May Lord Shirdi Saibaba Bless You and Your Family.
