Dear Dr. Kamath Sir,

Thanks a ton to you for dedicating this awesome song to me. Mein kin sabdon mein aapko apna shukriya ada karon, ye mein sabdon mein bayaan nahin kar sakta. It’s so nice of you. To be conferred with such an honor for a very small artist like me and that too from a veteran musician like you is matter of great pleasure for me. It’s all your love and affection and your kind wishes.

I am extremely sorry for my late response as you know my weekend programs and absence on online on weekends. As per my regular schedule, on very first morning, of Mon, I enjoy with your either melodious flute tune or your soulful singing. So fortunately, I got an opportunity to listen your very very soothing flute tune, an awesome tune Ye Kya Huwa played by you from film Amar Prem. I love this song very much and all songs of Amar prem are wonderful.  You have played it very beautifully, for a moment, I was lost in a different world. Your tune gives a unique melody which is too fabulous to listen. I wish I could play flute like you. Thanks a lot once again for your great gesture. I also love this song Bada Natkhat hai Krishna Kanhayaa on Flute. I wish someday you play this also.

Regards,

Mukesh

Dear Shri Nathan Saab,

Thanks for your highly appreciative comment. Yes. You are right. All other 3 KK solos in AMAR PREM were superbly composed by RDB. Somehow the song sung by SDB did not become popular. I think the composition for SD song  was relatively weak compared to 3 Solos by KK.
"Bad Natkhat Hai" was a superb number.

Sorry for the late reply.

Kind Regards,
Dr. Kamath

Dear Dr. V. S. Gopal Saheb,

Thanks for your appreciative response. Yes. Flute sound outsmarts sound coming from any other musical instruments. Sound from Flute is very divine and unbeatable by any other sound coming from any other instrument. And this is why Lord Krishna picked up Flute as his instrument instead of picking any other instrument.

Also some Sanskrit Scohlar told me that even now, Lord Krishna continously pumps the air in his Flute and this is reason all of things which have life remain alive in this universe including we human beings. What a Great Explanation.

Thanks and Regards,
Dr. Kamath

Dear Kamath Saheb!
The song sounded a bit different, but definitely very very nice in your flute! I love the sound of flute and you had played it seamlessly shrill with uniform intensity throughout, so it was like honey flowing in ears!
Rajesh Khanna suited the half-drunk 'babu' role of 'Amar Prem'. I remember his famous line in the film 'Pushpa, Ro mat, I hate tears'!
Sivaram-ji had rightly mentioned that 'Amar Prem' had the 3 very popular great solos by Kishore and a lovely solo by Lata ('Bada natkhat hai Krishna Kanhaiyya--'). But let us not forget the touching solo by the Great Senior Burman-Da in the film - 'Doli-mein bithaike--' which was a great tune composed lovingly by the son for his father to sing! The song did not become as popular as SDB's other memorable songs from his own composed films like 'O re maajhi' , 'Sun mere bandhure' and of course 'Wahan kaun hai tera'!
Musically yours,
S.V.Nathan.

 Hi Dr.Kamath,
Lovely to listen to this!
Why did Lord Krishna pick up a flute instead of a violin, banjo, tanpura, veena, sitar or gottuvadhyam? The sweetest music with smoothest legatos come only from a flute!!! How wonderful!!!!

I have received a farmaish for this very same song. I shall try to sing it. But singing cannot be as good as flute. Otherwise Lord Krishna would have preferred to sing indeed!!!
cheers

Dr Kamath
Sablu must be pleased .It is his favorite composer and singer whom he is following

What a movie Amar Prem was ? RDB at his best with 3 solos of Kishore and 1 Solo of Lata .Which is the best of this 4  solos. All are classics

Your flute rendering was perfect so pleasing to the ears .What more to say?

Best regards

Sivaram

Hello Lakshmi,

Thanks a Lot once again for your prompt encouraging comment. Yes. Flute sound is very close to female voice. I agree with you that Rajesh Khanna became very adamant after super sucess went to his head in early 1970's. And this ego finally destroyed him since everyone started abandoning him due to his mis-behavior. And with advent of Angry Young Man the Great Amitabh Bacchan, Rajesh Khanna lost the battle for good and could never recover after 1976.

So Long!

Regards,
Dr. Kamath
